Staubl Catheter Value - For catheterized patients who want to be able to urinate normally.

This valve enables catheterized patients to urinate normally, in a toilet setting, eliminating the need for day bags attached to their leg or night bags by the side of the bed.

When the patient needs to urinate, with one hand,  they move the spring loaded orange catch back and this enables the urine to flow. When urination is finished, they let go of the orange catch and the valve closes automatically.

The valve is securely attached to the catheter tubing to prevent accidents and lasts 3 months.

This valve has been used successfully in Switzerland for many years and is a favorite of many patients as it allows them to lead a more normal life not dictated by the fact that they are catheterized and which removes the need for urine bags.

It is NOT suitable for every patient. The patient must be able to get to the toilet and must be able to sense the need to urinate.  They must also have been assessed by a urology professional.

We are happy to supply these products to Urology and Incontinence Nursing Teams.

They are not currently covered by the Medical Card or the Drug Payments Scheme.
